Update PREVIEW Sports & Leisure
4 June 2026With openness and transparency, an important decision is being shared regarding PREVIEW Sports & Leisure. After careful consideration, it has been decided not to proceed with the event, which was scheduled to take place on Monday, July 6, 2026.
The reason for this decision is that there is currently insufficient support from the industry to deliver the event at the quality level envisioned by PREVIEW. At the same time, the organization would like to emphasize that there is definitely interest in such an event. Enthusiastic responses have been received from various stakeholders, highlighting a clear need for a platform where the athleisure, outdoor, and sports lifestyle sectors can be represented in a professional and inspiring way.
“Precisely because we believe in the potential of this concept, it is important for us to remain critical of the quality we deliver. For us, a strong and relevant offering is essential. We are convinced that buyers are only willing to dedicate their time to an event when they can expect a broad and high-quality selection of attractive brands. At this stage, we are not yet able to guarantee that level of quality to a sufficient extent,” says Marijn Verschure.
For this reason, the organization has chosen to take a step back and spend the coming period working even more intensively to strengthen support across the industry. The goal is to launch a high-quality PREVIEW Sports & Leisure event next summer that delivers genuine value to both exhibitors and visitors, and for which buyers consciously choose to travel and attend.
At the same time, the PREVIEW organization would like to make an appeal to all brands within the market, including those that have traditionally preferred to distance themselves from trade shows and industry events. In today’s market, personal connections, collaboration, and visibility are more important than is often assumed. A strong platform can only be built when the industry collectively takes responsibility for coming together, sharing developments, and strengthening the market as a whole.
“We would like to sincerely thank everyone who has already expressed confidence in this initiative. Your involvement, enthusiasm, and willingness to participate mean a great deal to us. We hope you will continue to support, promote, and advocate for initiatives like this in the future, so that together we can continue building a strong and future-proof platform for the industry,” says Caroline Beitler.
PREVIEW Sports & Leisure is organized by CAST in Nieuwegein. Operating from a non-profit philosophy, CAST and the PREVIEW organization are committed to supporting the industry, enabling participation costs to remain low and creating an accessible environment. The focus is not on large-scale and expensive trade show concepts, but rather on sustainable and valuable networking opportunities where personal communication takes center stage and brands can showcase their collection highlights in a professional and uniform setting.
On Monday, July 6, 2026, CAST will host an optional open house day(Early Access Day). Footwear brands wishing to present their Spring/Summer 2027 collections to customers are warmly invited to make use of this opportunity. In this way, a valuable moment remains available for brands and retailers to connect and look ahead to the upcoming season.
